Do you need some Christmas present inspiration this year? At Make Believe Ideas we think nothing makes a better gift than a beautiful book! Rosie the Ruby Fairy is here to help out with a festive tour of where to buy the best books in London – and you might just spot some of her friends along the way too!

Piccadilly

A great place to start is Piccadilly. Here you can check out London’s oldest bookshop, Hatchards, in its fabulous Georgian building. Next door is Waterstones, whose six floors of books are bound to house some hidden treasures! While you are here, take a look in Fortnum & Mason next door, and their seasonal Christmas shop!

Holborn

Just a few stops on the Piccadilly line is Blackwell’s in Holborn. Here you can find beautiful cards and gifts for true literature lovers. Once you’ve had a browse, why not join Camilla the Cupcake Fairy and Clara the Cookie Fairy in Benugo cafe for some delicious treats?

Charing Cross

A four minute walk down Charing Cross Road is Foyles, another well-known bookstore brimming with choice! The Charing Cross branch has five stories for you to hunt out just the right gift. Susie the Sapphire Fairy thinks that her story would be perfect to bring some sparkle on Christmas Day – can you find her book here?

Oxford Street

Of course a Christmas shopping extravaganza wouldn’t be complete without a visit to Oxford Street! Fly along with Rosie to John Lewis on Oxford Street, or take the Central line from Tottenham Court Road. Here you are in the very middle of all the Christmas shopping fun, but watch out for the crowds!

Regent Street

Why not flutter round the corner to see the gorgeous Christmas lights that Regent Street have on display this year? Along Regent Street is another must-visit – Hamley’s! There is no better time to visit this London landmark store than Christmas, so why not take the whole family? Maybe you will see some of the fairies stocking up on their Christmas presents too!
